Trial For Pottstown Man; Stole $843K From Grandma, Talk Show Host
A Pottstown man will go to trial after pleading innocent to stealing $843K from his elderly grandmother, a famous radio personality.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Montgomery County man has pleaded innocent to stealing $843,000 from his elderly grandmother, a famous radio personality, according to authorities.
Calvin Steven Turner, 33, of Pottstown will head to trial for theft from Mary Mason, an AM talk-show host from Philadelphia, court documents state. Turner has pleaded innocent to 306 counts of forgery, identity theft, and related charges.
The Philadelphia Tribune reports that prosecutors expected Turner to plead guilty to at least some of the counts.

Turner was first charged in Oct. 2016. Mason, who now suffers from serious dementia, was an icon on WHAT radio for years, known for her "Mornings with Mary" show.
He became the caretaker of Mason in 2012 when his father died, according to reports. Police were first tipped off when Mason's monthly bill of $7,700 at Sunrise of Lafayette Hill, her assisted living facility, went unpaid.

Turner used hundreds of thousands of dollars of Mason's money to buy two houses in Philadelphia and a lot in Pottstown, authorities allege. He is also accused of spending $15,556 at a strip club in Las Vegas and spending $73,282 on food, liquor, and cell phones, among other various expenses, all on Mason's dime.
