U.S. 422 Shut Down Near Pottstown

Downed utility wires have shut down traffic in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Downed utility wires on U.S. 422 near Pottstown have shut down both the eastbound and westbound lanes, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The wires went down sometime around noon between the Stowe Road and River Bridge Road exits.

It is not yet known when the lanes will reopen.

Crews are actively working on fixing the issue, and traffic eastbound is being detoured at Riverbridge Road, according to the Amity Township Police Department.

Motorists in Montgomery and Chester Counties heading west on 422 should consider alternate routes.
