2017 Proposed Radnor Twp. Budget Available For Review

No real estate tax change recommended for 2017.

The 2017 proposed budget or Radnor Township has been posted on the township's website, and residents will likely be happy with what the budget proposes.

Township Manager Robert A. Zienkowski is recommending, based on major revenue assumptions, that the township make no change to the current millage rate for township operations and capital. Zienkowski also recommends sanitary sewer rent and storm water fees remain unchanged for 2017.

The budget assumes most of the township's revenue – $15.16 million – will come from "other sources," which include grants, licensing fees, and the storm water and sewer collections, among other sources. Real estate taxes account for $12.5 million and the Radnor Township School District will bring in $14.94 million through Act 511, the budget assumes.

The township, however, may have to increase the millage rate to cover the Park and Open Space fund. Increasing the millage rate is dependent upon the annual realty transfer tax revenues, which dipped in 2016 but is assumed to increase slightly in 2017.

Residents can review the budget here, before the township adopts Zienkowski proposed comprehensive budget at the Oct. 24 board meeting. Public hearings on the budget will be held Nov. 7 and Nov. 21. The 2017 budget ordinance will be introduced Nov. 28 and the board will vote whether or not to adopt the budget Dec. 12.
