4 Community Members Chosen to Receive 2017 Awards for Selfless Service

October Live It Up! charity fundraising event to raise money for Help Hope Live will include awards for four local community heroes.

On Thursday, October 19, four resilient and altruistic individuals
will be honored for their contributions in supporting transplant
candidates and recipients, giving the gift of life through
transplantation, and motivating spinal cord injury survivors.

This year’s Help, Hope, and Live award recipients are:

  • Heart transplant recipient Bill Soloway for peer mentorship
  • Pun’s Toy Shop co-founders Joe Berardoni, Sr. and Jr. for the gift of life through kidney transplantation
  • Lauren Shevchek for inspiration after a paralyzing spinal cord injury

The recipients were chosen as representatives of the core values held by the national nonprofit Help Hope Live,
a Radnor-based national medical fundraising nonprofit with more than 34
years of service to families living with a transplant or a catastrophic
injury or illness. Each award recipient was selected by the event’s
Live It Up! Committee of engaged community leaders and nonprofit staff
members.
