Updated 5th Congressional District Primary Results

U.S. Rep Mary Gay Scanlon is running unopposed, and she will face either Robert Jordan or Dasha Pruett come November.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Polls are closed in the 2020 Pennsylvania primary election, and some voters have cast their ballots in person, by mail, and through provisional ballots for the 5th Congressional District.

Incumbent Mary Gay Scanlon, a Democrat, is running unopposed.

But the Republican Party is running two candidates: Robert Jordan and Dasha Pruett.

Results as of 5:30 p.m. Friday are below:

Republican

  • Robert Jordan — 12,309 (37.27 percent)
  • Dasha Pruett — 20,718 (69.73 percent)

Democrat

  • Mary Gay Scanlon — 43,065 (100 percent)

Full results may take some time to come in, as Gov. Tom Wolf extended the deadline to mail in ballots. Ballots must be postmarked by June 2 and received by June 9.

Due to the extension, the unofficial results will not be completed until at least the evening of June 9.

Delaware County alone sent out about 80,000 absentee or mail-in ballots.

The most mail-in ballots ever previously processed was approximately 25,000 for the 2008 general election.
