Accused Wayne Chipotle Weed Dealers Heading To Trial

Robert Lane and Kyhdeem-Ahmad Shoatz will answer to their numerous charges at a trial in the future, court records show.

WAYNE, PA – Two men accused of selling marijuana out of the Wayne Chipotle restaurant will head to trial, according to court documents.

Robert Lane, 22, and Kyhdeem-Ahmad Shoatz, 24, both of Philadelphia, appeared in a Delaware County court Wednesday for their preliminary hearings.

The charges filed against both men were held for trial at the hearings, court documents show.

A trial date has yet to be set.

Lane, who was employed at the Lancaster Avenue eatery when he was arrested, faces 24 charges including felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; felony conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; criminal use of a communication facility; and related drug charges.

Shoatz faces 10 charges including felony conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; criminal use of a communication facility; and other drug-related charges.

The men were arrested June 7 following an investigation into drugs allegedly being sold out of the restaurant. Police sent undercover officers to make deals at the business as part of the investigation.

At least 3/4 of a pound of marijuana was found in the bust, as well as drug paraphernalia in a toilet tank in the restaurant.

Lane remains in custody while Shoatz is free after posting 10 percent of $30,000 bail June 13, court records show.
