AIS Reaches $40 Million Campaign Goal

On Tuesday, July 1, The Agnes Irwin School’s Dare to Do More Campaign concluded successfully after three years, resulting in a record-breaking $40 million.

This historic accomplishment for the school is the result of the generosity of over 2,700 loyal parents, alumnae, grandparents, parents of alumnae and friends of the Agnes Irwin community.

"The outstanding success of the campaign speaks directly to the dedication and character of this community,” said Dr. Wendy Hill, whose arrival as the new Head of The Agnes Irwin School commenced with the realization of the campaign’s ambitious goals.

During the last month of the campaign, with $1.5 million still to be raised, Agnes Irwin alumnae and parents responded to challenges offered by a few generous donors. On June 30, the last day of the  campaign, the school received over 170 gifts, ranging from $25 to $250,000; more than $700,000 was raised in one day to meet the goal.

“It was truly ‘the day to do more,’” said Jim Buck, Dare to Do More Campaign Chair. “While there will be ongoing fundraising, we are proud of this amazing milestone.”

With this campaign, the school completed a significant expansion to its Rosemont campus in September 2013, including new facilities for athletics, student life and academic programs. The Campus Improvements Project was the final phase of a 10-year campus master plan to address vitally important facilities needs.
