RADNOR, PA — Radnor has a new dining option at The Brandywine, where Merrick’s Tavern opened earlier this month.
Merrick’s Tavern, which opened May 16, is the signature restaurant at The Brandywine, the new Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel. But it was built first and foremost as a dining destination for locals.
Merrick’s has seating for 196 patrons, including 64 indoor seats, and includes a private dining room for 14 people. The restaurant is expected to host a range of occasions, from business lunches and after-work drinks to celebrations and weekend gatherings.
“Merrick’s Tavern was envisioned as a true neighborhood gathering place for the Main Line, where hotel guests and local regulars come together over exceptional food and genuine hospitality,” said Brett Keyes, director of food and beverage at The Brandywine.
Executive Chef Michael Davies is leading the kitchen. Davies is a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia and previously worked at Memphis Taproom, Cheu Fishtown and Pumpkin. Most recently, he served as executive chef at The Settlers Inn in Northeast Pennsylvania, deepening his focus on seasonal menus.
The dinner menu includes items such as Arctic Char Pastrami, gem lettuce salad, spring pea soup, heritage Pork Coppa Steak, roasted Lancaster Chicken, “The Burger,” Sorghum Eggplant and strawberry buttermilk tarte.
Breakfast is served a la carte, with offerings including an “Old American” style breakfast and ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote and lemon cream.
Anchored by a front-and-center bar, drinking options include bourbon- and rye-forward cocktails, a wine list focused mainly on American selections, and beers from local brewers.
Merrick's Tavern is located at 165 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor. Reservations are available on OpenTable.
