BROOMALL, PA — One of Delaware County's best-known pizzerias is back, reopening at 11 a.m. Thursday in Broomall with a new storefront, and a new name.
Founded in 1941, Pica's Restaurant first opened in West Philadelphia with a brick oven and a few tables and chairs. Fifteen years later, Pica's moved to a considerably larger space in Upper Darby, where it operated for 70 years.

The new restaurant, rebranded as Pica's Italian Market Broomall, will soft launch on Thursday.
Pica's will begin with a limited menu because of issues with the gas connection. But many of the restaurant's staples, including the square pizzas, will be available.
"From the bottom of our hearts, the Pica family wants to thank all of our loyal customers for your patience, encouragement, and support," Pica's announced on social media. "We are truly humbled and can’t wait to welcome you through our doors and serve our community once again."
Pica's Italian Market is located at 1101 Sussex Blvd., Suite 10.
