15 Agnes Irwin Seniors Recognized for Academic Excellence

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Acknowledged for scholarly achievement on a national level, the following 15 Agnes Irwin students have been selected as semi-finalists, commended students or outstanding participants in the National Merit Scholarship, National Achievement Scholarship and National Hispanic Scholarship Programs.

“AIS is proud to announce that fifteen of our students have been recognized in the national recognition and scholarship programs that come out of the PSAT exam, putting them in the top percentages of national test takers,” said Connie McEvoy, Director of College Counseling at The Agnes Irwin School.

To be considered for finalist standing, semifinalists must continue meeting high academic standards and all other requirements explained in the scholarship application. From the approximately 16,000 semifinalists selected in September, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the finalist level and will be notified of this designation in February.

All National Merit Scholarship winners are selected from the finalist group. Commended students become eligible for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses. For more information on the program and scholarships, visit www.nationalmerit.org.
