Aqua PA Investing $793k On Radnor Water Upgrades

Crews are working on Sugartown Road, Longwood Drive, Calvarese Lane, and West Beech Tree Lane to improve the township's water service.

RADNOR, PA – Aqua Pennsylvania is currently working on major projects on the Main Line, including a more than a quarter of a million dollars in work in Radnor Township, to improve water services around the Main Line.

Aqua PA crews are working on a $2.8 million infrastructure improvement project in Lower Merion, Radnor, and Haverford townships.

In Radnor, crews are working on a $793,000 project to install 3,570 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe. With project completion expected in December, the work is taking place on the following streets:

  • Sugartown Road between Longwood Drive and Poplar Avenue
  • Longwood Drive between both ends of Sugartown Roads
  • Calvarese Lane between Kirsch Avenue and end of the cul-de-sac
  • West Beech Tree Lane between Eagle Road and the 400 block of West Beech Tree Lane

Additionally, crews began work on a $570,000 project to replace existing 6-inch cast iron water main with the installation of 2,080 feet of 8-inch and 600 feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe in Radnor and Haverford townships.

With project completion expected in December, work will take place on the following streets:

  • Wooten Road between Bryn Mawr Avenue and the 900 block of Wooten Road
  • Westview Road between Highland Lane and end of the cul-de-sac

The projects will increase service reliability, reduce the potential for discolored water and improve firefighting capabilities in the area, Aqua PA said. The replacements are part of Aqua’s $62.9 million capital program in Montgomery County and $51 million capital program in Delaware County for 2017, according to the water company.
