Aqua Phone Scam Reported In Radnor: Police

Caller posing as Aqua threatened to shut off victim's water if the victim did not provide credit card information, police said.

Radnor Township Police are warning residents of a phone scam that was reported on Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the township.

According to police, the victim received a phone call on her cell phone on Oct. 26 from (877) 987-2782.

Police said the victim recognized the number as Aqua immediately and spoke with a female who requested credit card information or her water would be shut off.

The victim told police she immediately hung up the phone and contacted Radnor Police.

Police said the victim did not give any information out to the caller.

The victim then called back the number which belongs to Aqua and spoke with their security services, police said.

According to police, Aqua advised this was a fraudulent phone call and the victim told Aqua their number was being fraudulently used by someone acting as "Aqua."

Police are reminding residents that they will not receive this type of solicitation or payment method from Aqua.
