Art Inspiring Conservation - Classes Begin Thursday, April 9!
Join the Wayne Art Center this spring as we welcome special guest Carrie Barron, education manager of the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, and our own talented art instructors for Art Inspiring Conservation - a creative after-school class series for kids combining hands-on learning and experimental fun!

April 9: Tour The 5 B’s Art Exhibition Register online
Learn about the mission of Audubon Pennsylvania to conserve our natural habitats, and be inspired by your favorites art pieces in the creation of your own natural craft.
April 16: Drawing Birds Register online
Learn about the amazing world of birds through a short lesson on biology and adaptation using taxidermy specimens of owls, song birds & waterfowl. Lessons on drawing the specific anatomy of these winged creatures of the sky will follow.

April 23: Build a Bat Sculpture Register online
These often misunderstood creatures of the night are fascinating animals perfectly adapted to their niche. Students will learn about how they are able to navigate through dark skies and survive when most other mammals are asleep. Students will use what they have learned to create remarkable bat sculptures from everyday materials.
April 30: Bugs, Butterflies, Bees—Mixed Media Register online
Bright & colorful butterflies, long green stick bugs, and rainbow beetles are just a few of the wonderful world of B’s that will help us wrap up this week. Using a wealth of colorful materials, we will create a mixed media collage of our favorite bug or butterfly.
