ASA fundraiser to benefit Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

3rd & 4th Grade at ASA making a difference in their community!

Yesterday morning, Ellen Paparone, Development Coordinator for School and Youth Programs at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia visited the Academy to graciously accept donations from the Third and Fourth Grade classes.

Third Grade held a book drive during the month of February for CHOP’s “Reach Out and Read” Program. Reach Out and Read incorporates books into pediatric care and encourages families to read aloud together. Ellen shared that this year the program reached one million books distributed! The Third Grade collected seven boxes of books to donate to this wonderful program.
Fourth Grade held a pretzel sale each week during the month of February and ended up raising an incredible total of over $1,000 in sales and donations!!! Their money will go towards the Children’s Fund at CHOP which helps make a powerful impact and allows the hospital to provide essential resources and meet unexpected needs as they arise.

We are very proud of our children for their fundraising efforts which they decided to do out of the goodness of their hearts. Thank you to all parents and students who participated and donated to help make these efforts a success!
