Axelrod Blood Drive Collects Enough To Save 519 Lives
A great turnout for a great cause. Well done, Radnor community and those from around the area who donated!

WAYNE, PA – The Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive held a a drive early this week in Radnor Township. Organizers said after totaling all the units, the found enough blood was donated to save the lives of 519 people.
"With your help, we collected 173 units of blood, smashing our goal and representing our highest one-day collection total ever," organizers Michelle and Dan Scolnick said in a release. "But the best news of all is that those 173 units will save or prolong the lives of as many as 519 people in the days and weeks ahead!"
The Scolnicks said the memorial drive has now provided blood to help as many as 8,955 patients.

"Whether you donated blood, volunteered your time, provided food or drawing prizes, assisted with logistics, or helped us spread the word and recruit blood donors, you played an integral role in this outcome, and we are so grateful to you," they said.
While the Radnor drive was a success, the mission is not complete.

More drives in Carol Axelrod's memory will be held around the area this year.
A drive will be held form 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 12 at The Reserve at Gwynedd, 301 Primrose Drive
Lansdale. You can now register for slots to donate that day online here.
You may also schedule appointments by emailing info@chablooddrive.org.
Then in the fall, Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood will be host to another drive on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.
The Scolnicks said the goal is to help affect 10,000 lives by the close of 2017.
"Our family extends our most heartfelt thanks for your continued support," they said.
