Barking Dog Alerts Radnor Resident To Burglar: Police

Man's best friend stepped up during an attempted burglary Wednesday evening, according to Police. Give that dog a treat or 10, we say.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – An attempted burglary at a Radnor Township home was thwarted by the homeowner's barking dog Wednesday night, according to Radnor Police.

Police said the attempted burglary occurred in the early evening hours of Wednesday, July 26 on the 300 block of Yorkshire Road in the Bryn Mawr section of the township.

When she heard the dog barking, she went to the back door of the home and saw an unknown African-American male trying to open the back door, police said.

The male was described as being in his late teens or early 20s wearing blue jeans, a light blue shirt and a white shirt, police said.

After seeing the homeowner, the suspect fled the area in an known direction, police said.

Anyone who has information on this attempted burglary or who may have seen the suspect is urged to call 911.

Police said residents should call 911 whenever they observes suspicious individuals.
