Home real estate sales in the Main Line up 6.2 percent in 2015 first six months

Homes sales in the Main Line increased to 1,324 homes sold in the first six months of 2015, up 6.2 percent from 1,247 homes sold in the first six months of 2014. Median home prices decreased 2.5 percent to $390,000 in the first six months of 2015, compared to the median sale price of the first six months of 2014, which stood at $400,000.
The average number of days a home remained on the market increased from 63 days in the first six months of 2014 to 67 days in the first six months of 2015.

According to a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach HomExpert Market Report, there were 133 properties that closed in the first six months, compared with 134 from the year before. In 2013 that number was 191.
The median price of the properties that sold in the first six months decreased 1.3 percent over the same period in 2014, from $587,500 to $580,102. In 2013, the median price was $492,500. The average days on the market increased by 1.8 percent from 57 to 58 days between 2014 and 2015.
