Break Down Gift Boxes To Deter Burglars: Main Line Police
Seeing boxes of nice TVs, computers, gaming systems, and more could entice crooks to attempt to break in and steal your holiday gifts.

Police on the Main Line are warning residents about something innocuous that may make them targets for would-be burglars. You might have lots of boxes to put out for recycling collections after the holidays, and with gifts such as high-end TVs, gaming systems, computers, and more becoming increasingly common, those items' empty boxes could cause a crook to target your home.
Tredyffrin Township Police are advising residents to break down boxes for any high-end items that you may have been gifted over the holidays.
"There's no reason to let potential thieves know just HOW good you were this year," police said on Facebook. "Be sure to break down boxes of high value presents & put them out shortly before pick-up by your hauler, or take them directly to an approved drop-off facility if possible!"
