Brief thought about Elections on Veterans Day

Today we celebrate our Veterans, living and deceased but I am concerned about the recent elections. Not about the results but rather about the Voter turnout.
Local Elections affect our daily lives and our fortunes to a much greater extent than State of National elections however we only see 25 to 30 of the registered voters come to the polls to exercise their right to vote.
Have all our Veterans served (and many died) to preserve our freedoms so that we can Not do our civic duty and vote? Something to think about.
