Join us for an evening of poetry with Grant Clauser, Jed Myers, and Mark Danowsky

Main Point Books welcomes poets Grant Clauser, Jed Clauser, and Mark Danowsky. The evening is a homecoming for Jed, and a chance for you to hear new work from Grant and Mark!

This event will be in our lower level event space. RSVPs are requested.

Meet the Poets

Jed Myers, a Philadelphia native, studied Creative Writing at Tufts University, then trained in medicine and psychiatry, and maintained a therapy practice in Seattle for nearly four decades. He’s author of Watching the Perseids (Sacramento Poetry Center Book Award), The Marriage of Space and Time (MoonPath Press), Learning to Hold (Wandering Aengus Press Editors’ Award), and Can’t Be Far (MoonPath Press Sally Albiso Award finalist), and six chapbooks. Poems have won awards from Southern Indiana Review, Prime Number Magazine, The Southeast Review, Northwest Review, River Heron Review, and others. His work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Poetry Northwest, Rattle, RHINO, The Poetry Review, The Greensboro Review, and numerous anthologies. He is married to Bracken’s founder, the writer Alina Rios.

Grant Clauser’s latest book is Temporary Shelters from Cornerstone Press. He is the author of five previous books, including Muddy Dragon on the Road to Heaven and Reckless Constellations. His poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Greensboro Review, Kenyon Review, Southern Review and anthologies including Keystone Poetry and The Literary Field Guide to Northern Appalachia. His books and poems have won numerous awards including the 2023 Verse Daily Poem Prize. He’s an editor for a national media company and teaches poetry at Rosemont College in Pennsylvania.

Mark Danowsky is Founder & Editor-in-Chief of ONE ART: a journal of poetry, and Poetry Craft Essays Editor for Cleaver Magazine. He curates Stay Curious on Substack. He previously served for many years as Managing Editor of the Schuylkill Valley Journal. His short poetry collections include Take Care (Moon Tide Press), Meatless (Plan B Press), Violet Flame (tiny wren lit), JAWN (Moonstone Press), and As Falls Trees (NightBallet Press). His poems and other writing have been curated in many journals including, Gargoyle, The Summerset Review, Bird Watcher’s Digest, Blue Mountain Review, Sheila-Na-Gig, The New Verse News, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, The Broadkill Review, Alba, Modern Haiku. These days, he writes quite a lot of haiku and aphorisms.
