Clyde Road Bridge Still Closed; Should Reopen By Labor Day, Township Officials Say

The county is working "diligently" to ensure that the bridge will reopen by Labor Day, according to Radnor Township.

The Clyde Road Bridge will remain closed to traffic as work to repair the bridge is completed, Radnor Township officials announced this week. Radnor officials say the county is working "diligently" to ensure the bridge is reopened to traffic by Labor Day.

The bridge, which carries Clyde Road over Ithan Creek in Radnor Township, "will remain closed to traffic as the final contracted work items are completed as a part of Delaware County's Bridge Rehabilitation Contract," the township said on its website.

The closure has apparently "irked" local officials, MainLineMediaNews.com reports. The bridge was opened in July but then was ordered closed by the county because the guardrails leading up to it were not yet installed, MainLineMediaNews.com said.
