Convicted Priest 'Was No Monster', Reporter Reflects
A reporter who has covered the trial against Msgr. William J. Lynn reflects on when he knew him personally.

"The Father Lynn I knew was no monster. I actually liked him," writes Philadelphia Inquirer writer John P. Martin, who covered the trial and conviction of Msgr. William J. Lynn over his handling of child-sex abuse complaints within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Martin, who grew up in Wayne, writes about knowing Lynn at Church and
"The Lynn I remember was a plump, affable guy who smiled a lot when he talked. I even recall a few of our conversations, including when a friend and I asked why he became a priest. Lynn said he had a calling he tried to ignore — but couldn't," Martin writes.
