Dance Yourself Fit at Wayne Senior Center

New dance classes on the schedule at Wayne Senior Center

Exercise is one of the keys to healthy aging, and what better way to stay fit than dancing? Dancing can help you combat the effects of osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s and arthritis. Wayne Senior Center offers several dance classes including Tap Dancing, Line Dancing, and a new cardio dance class, Dance Yourself Fit. In any of the dance classes, enjoy moving and grooving to the songs you grew up with as well as popular music of today. Every class is a party! If dancing is not your thing, the group fitness schedule also includes yoga, tai chi, and aerobics classes.

The Wayne Senior Center Fitness Center is also home to a fitness center that boasts state of the art equipment which is specially designed for use by those who are 60 and older. Several pieces of equipment have been recently updated, including new treadmills, elliptical and recumbent bicycle. The Fitness Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm and on Saturdays 8:30am to 10:30am. There is a professional trainer on site several days a week to help you create an individual fitness routine. The Wayne Senior Center is also a participating location for the SilverSneakers exercise program for older adults. A SilverSneakers membership is available through select Medicare Health Plans, Medicare Supplement Plans and Group Retiree Plans. If you are enrolled in SilverSneakers, the program will pay the cost of your Fitness Center membership.
