Delco Biker Gang Member Sentenced For Meth Distribution

A Delaware County man was sentenced to 11 years prison time after being convicted of distributing methamphetamine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The man from Upper Darby was a member of the Warlocks outlaw motorcycle gang, the attorney's office said.

Andrew Carr, 60, of Upper Darby, was sentenced to 132 months for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to the attorney's office, Carr was the "muscle" for the gang and intimidated and threatened violence to collect drug debts for a methamphetamine trafficking business. He also sold meth to his own customers, the attorney's office said.

That business sold about $40,000 worth of meth each month in Philadelphia and Delaware County, according to the attorney's office.

Carr, ironically, served as the director of the Upper Darby Township Recreational Gym for over 12 years until he was terminated in 2013 and in that role was responsible for the Police Athletic League programs at the gym.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations with assistance from detectives of the Delaware County Criminal Investigative Division and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Maria M. Carrillo.

And as a result of the investigation, eight other members or associates of the drug trafficking business have been convicted, and six of them have been sentenced, the attorney's office said.
