Delco Community Day To Raise Drug Abuse, Addiction Awareness
The day will feature free food, live music, an Easter Egg Hunt, and drug prevention and rehab groups to provide resources.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — This spring, the Delaware County Heroin Task Force and the Partners for Success Coalition will hold the 5th Annual Community Day, Celebrating Prevention in April.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, rain or shine, in Rose Tree Park, 1671 N. Providence Road in Media.
Each year the event has been held to raise awareness about drug abuse and addiction in a family friendly setting with activities that celebrate prevention and recovery.

In addition to free food, live music and fun activities, including an Easter Egg Hunt, there will be various participating drug prevention and rehabilitation organizations onsite who will provide resources and services for parents and youth.
During the event, the District Attorney’s Mobile Drug Collection Unit will be on site for residents to dispose of their expired and unwanted medications. Through the county-wide drug drop collection program, more than 14 tons of drugs have been collected since the program began in October 2013.

Part of the event’s program includes a ceremony to recognize individuals, organizations and businesses as Prevention Partners whose leadership positively impacts the community in preventing, educating, and providing resources on the issues of prescription drug misuse and opioid use.
