Delco Man Accused Of Owning Child Porn: District Attorney

A local man is facing 50 counts of two separate felony charges after investigators alleged he possessed more than 20 images of child porn.

A Delaware County man is behind bars after being charged with numerous counts of child pornography possession, Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland announced Tuesday.

Charles Anthony Orlando, 41, of Aston, has been charged with 25 counts of felony child pornography possession and 25 counts of felony criminal use of a communication facility, according to court records.

Orlando is behind bars after failing to post $150,000 bail, court records show. He is slated for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 8.

He is accused of possessing images of naked infants and prepubescent girls between the ages of 3 and 10-years-old engaged in sexual positions or acts, the DA's office said.

On June 22, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received multiple reports from Google that a subscriber, later identified as Orlando, uploaded more than 350 images of alleged child pornography to his Google Photos account, according to the DA's office.

Sergeant Kenneth Bellis of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and a member of the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force launched an investigation and obtained a search warrant for Orlando's Aston home, the DA's office said.

The search warrant was executed at about 6:30 p.m. on July 24.

Orlando was home at the time of search, and allowed detectives into the trailer without incident, according to the DA's office.

During the search, the Orlando's cell phone was confiscated from the property, the DA's office said.

A preliminary examination of the cell phone showed at least 25 images of child pornography, according to the DA's office. Bellis then confirmed the images as child pornography which depicted naked infants or prepubescent girls between the ages 3 and 10-years-old, the DA's office said.

"Those who possess child pornography contribute to the appalling and repulsive exploitation of innocent children," Copeland said. "In partnership with our local police, detectives with CID and the ICAC Task Force actively work on a daily basis to locate and arrest these individuals. I would like to commend CID Sergeant Kenneth Bellis and the ICAC Task Force, as well as the Aston Township Police, for their immediate response to this report, and continued work to apprehend these perpetrators."
