Delco Man Crashes Stolen Car After Fleeing Police: Radnor Police

Police said the man tried to escape pursuing officers, then drove into a residential yard and crashed the vehicle into a downed tree.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A Chester man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle, leading police on a chase, then crashing it, according to police and court records.

Samuel Jefferson Dorsey, 38, of Chester, is facing felony receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing police, and driving with a suspended license, according to court records.

Radnor Township Police said at about 9 a.m. Thursday, April 25, officers tried to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen on Goshen Road.

The vehicle did not stop and drove into a residential driveway, then the yard, before crashing the vehicle into a downed tree, police said.

Dorsey allegedly led police on a short foot chase, but he was apprehended shortly thereafter, police said.

Police said the vehicle was stolen from another Delaware County municipality.

Dorsey was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post 10 percent of $150,000 bail, according to court documents.

His preliminary hearing is set for May 9, court records show.
