Delco Police Find Keg In Woods, Troll Kids Who Hid It

"You might want to hold off on buying the red plastic cups for tonight's party," police said in a Facebook post showing the keg.

UPPER DARBY, PA – Upper Darby Police are known to be cheeky on their social media accounts when not alerting the public to crimes in the area. Often the department will have a quip to go along with blurbs they post about odd crimes they handle.

And on Thursday the trend continued, as the department posted a photo with a keg they found hidden in the area and trolled those who hid the keg.

"You might want to hold off on buying the red plastic cups for tonight's party behind the Aronimink Swim Club," Police said on Facebook, addressing the underage drinkers who likely planned to recover the keg. "There will probably be a lack of attendance now."

The post garnered thousands of reactions on Facebook, nearly 600 comments, and more than 2,800 shares.

However, some comments needled police, saying there are "real" crimes in the area that need to be addressed and finding the keg was a waste of time.

To which the department responded by sharing a photo of all the filing cabinets housing investigations the department handled in 2016 and 2017.

"These files range from robberies, burglaries, drug arrests and even shoplifting,"police said in Friday's response post. "Yet we have an extremely high solve rate. These files do not include the 50k + calls for service we get."
