Delco SPCA's Longest Dog Resident Needs A Home

The Delaware County SPCA has launched a social media challenge to find Abby Rose a home. The dog has been homeless for almost a year.

Or you could simply take the challenge and find out.

The Delaware County SPCA is inviting the public to take the Abby Rose Challenge in its quest to find the shelter’s longest dog resident a forever home. Abby Rose has been homeless for almost a year.

To participate, simply come into the shelter, meet the pup and take a selfie with her. Then, post the selfie on Facebook, tagging Delaware County SPCA and using the hashtag #‎FindAbbyRoseAHome‬.

“The best picture will be voted on by our staff of lifesavers and the winner will receive a prize!,” the local SPCA said via Facebook.

According to the local SPCA, Abby was left homeless after her family was involved in a domestic dispute. Some of the family moved to a safe location where no pets were allowed.

Abby is a nearly 3-year-old terrier / pit bull mix. Her biography on the Delaware County SPCA page says she’s a “bit of a D-I-V-A” whose adoption fee has been sponsored by a donor.

The Delaware County SPCA adoption center is located at 555 Sandy Bank Rd, Media.

Hours are:

12 - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday
12 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
