Delco Thanksgiving Food Drive Collects Nearly 27,000 lbs Of Food
Even with the drive over, donations still be made to the Delaware County Interfaith Food Assistance Network.
Delaware County's 14th Thanksgiving Food Drive is officially over and the numbers are in.
The county collected 26,811 lbs of food that will be used to help feed needy families in Delaware County this holiday season.
“We are very proud of our county employees and also the community who generously donated to help residents in need this holiday season,” Delaware County Councilman Dave White, who serves as the council's liaison to Human Services, said in a press release. “Some residents struggle with providing healthy food to their families and it’s crucial that we reach out to those families and offer assistance."

County officials dropped off the last round of collections Friday afternoon to the First United Methodist Church in Media.
With the food drive coming to a close, food donations can still be made at any time to the Delaware County Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN), according to a press release. For information about DIFAN call (610) 566-7540 or visit the County website.
