Devon Horse Show Tickets Now on Sale

Ticket office does brisk business on opening day as fans line up to get tickets for their favorite events.

Tickets for the went on sale Monday morning with fans lined up at the gate as early as 6 a.m..  The box office will now be open for walk-up sales Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m to noon. Tickets are also available on line and by mail. Full ticket details are on the show website.

The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair runs from May 26th to June 5th at the Horse Show grounds.

Horse Show Ticket Chairwoman Meg Wiederseim says several reserved and grand stand ticket options ranging from single events to all shows are available. Box seats are sold out and there is a waiting list that can literally be generations long for some prized boxes. However the website indicates a few box tickets may become avaialble. Sheila Jones of Wallingford was one of the eager fans who got to the ticket office Monday to secure a seat for Grand Prix Night. Jones says she loves the excitement of the horse show "and the food, (especially) the funnel cake." She and her daughter have been coming to Devon for 17 years. "I didn't want to make the trip down the shore that first year and we've been here ever since."

The show has raised funds for Bryn Mawr Hospital since 1919.Historian and past show co-chair Bobbi Cowley says since 1972 alone, the Horse Show has raised over $14 million to benefit the hospital. Last year the show set a new single year record, donating $370,000 to the hospital.
