Drug Dogs Coming To Radnor High School: Report

Do you think "unannounced sweeps" with drug-sniffing dogs are a good idea?

Dogs are going to be making "unannounced" trips to Radnor High School soon, according to a new report. In an effort to combat student drug use, the district said it will be deploying drug sniffing dogs in the school in the future.

Principal Dan Bechtold said at a recent board meeting that the dogs will be doing random patrols in the school as part of the district's effort to curb student drug use, according to Main Line Media News.

“We’re going to do everything possible to protect the students,” RTSD Superintendent Ken Batchelor said at the meeting. “I think they’ll appreciate that, as the adults in their lives, we’re holding students accountable…I commend the high school in their wanting to do this…Our policy does allow us to do it.”

The outlet reports the dogs will not be Radnor Township Police dogs, rather they will be from a company that was not named in the report.
