Electrical Wires Cause Brush Fire In Radnor Township

Downed wires ignited brush behind the Radnor Financial Center Saturday morning, according to the Radnor Fire Company.

WAYNE, PA – When electrical wires fell to the ground in Wayne over the weekend, some brush behind the Radnor Financial Center ignited, prompting a response from fire companies in the area.

According to the Radnor Fire Company, the fire broke out at about 10:39 a.m. out back of the center after PECO wires came crashing down into brush near the train tracks.

Due to the location of the fire, the Berwyn and Paoli fire companies were called to assist the Radnor Fire Company. PECO also assisted by shutting off power to the downed line.

During the firefighter response, trains ran at a reduced speed, the fire company said.

The scene was clear by 1 p.m., the fire company said.

The fire company did not report any injuries.
