Ernst Brothers Designers & Builders adds project manager to staff

Frank Bauer brings 37 years' experience in the construction industry to the new post at the niche custom design-build firm.

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 292,000 new jobs in December—nearly 100,000 more than economists anticipated.

Ernst Brothers Designers & Builders, a niche custom design-build firm, believes it’s doing its part for 2016’s employment statistics by doubling—yes, doubling—the number of non-partner project managers on staff. Frank Bauer hired on in early March as a project manager. He joins John Chirico, project manager, who has been with Ernst for over 25 years, as well as owners and principal project managers Tim and Joe Ernst and field managers Rick Rhoads and Mike Berg.

“We’re excited to have Frank on our team,” says partner and controller Jake Taylor. “Not only is he skilled and experienced; he also understands our client philosophy and business ethic.”

Taylor added: “Even though we joke about doubling our project management staff, it’s true that this is a testament to the health of the housing and commercial construction market. Ernst Brothers has grown as our industry has rebounded from its recent major slump, and we must add a key position to our staff to accommodate that growth.”

Bauer has spent nearly four decades in the construction industry, including operating his own carpentry business for 18 years and most recently working nearly 10 years with Cullen Construction in Wayne. His experiences as both owner and employee, which honed his abilities to respond to clients and stay on top of the details, helped him keep a $1.6 million project on schedule despite a tough challenge from Hurricane Sandy.

“I especially appreciate Ernst Brothers’ focus on quality and customer satisfaction,” Bauer says.

Ernst Brothers, established in 1984, is an award-winning custom design-build construction firm focusing on middle and high-end residential and commercial projects that include historic restoration, adaptive re-use, challenging renovations and new construction in Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties as well as south and central New Jersey.
