“Extreme Power Carving” with Marty Long

Trained as a Chef at Johnson & Wales University, chainsaw artist Marty Long soon discovered a love of ice sculpture. He went on to take the silver medal at the Ice Art World Championchips in 1998. In 2000 Marty, with the encouragement of a friend, tried his hand at woodcarving in a Christmas tree lot. Long credits his improvement in this art form to the guidance and instruction of Brian Ruth. Mr. Long has since been inducted into Ruth’s “Masters of the Chainsaw” team.

On Wednesday, July 11th beginning at 11:30AM, Marty Long will be at the Wayne Art Center to showcase his chainsaw carving. He will be carving a 3.5 foot stump, and the resulting sculpture will remain with the Art Center.

Please RSVP with the number of persons attending by Monday, July 9th! RSVP by calling 610-688-3553 ext. 208, or to Carolyn@wayneart.org.
