Ex Radnor Commissioner Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charges
Former Radnor Township Commissioner Philip Ahr faces a maximum of 60 years in prison for sending and possessing child pornography.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Former Democratic Radnor Township Commissioner Philip Ahr pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in federal court on Tuesday, according to authorities.
Ahr appeared in federal court Tuesday for a plea hearing for five counts of child pornography-related charges filed against him in February last year.
He pleaded guilty distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography, authorities said.

Ahr, 68 and of the Rosemont section of Radnor Township, was charged by federal indicted in February 2018 with two counts each of distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography and receipt of child pornography, as well as one count of possession of child pornography. The incidents leading to the charges span from 2013 to 2017, according to the indictment.
Ahr remains behind bars as he awaits sentencing, which is set for May 23. He faces five to 60 years in prison and a mandatory five years of supervised released with the potential to be under supervised release for life.

According to the indictment, Ahr, 66, forfeited two Dell desktop computers; a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer; an iPad Air; a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone; and 80 gigabyte hard drive; and a USB flash drive.
Authorities say Ahr used the online monikers allegedly were "DaddyX" and "DaddyXX" while engaging in the activity.
He was arrested Oct. 11, 2017 by Delaware County authorities following the announcement of a county-led investigation of unknown origin targeting Ahr in late September 2017.
He later resigned as the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners president, a position he was elected to in July 2017.
However, he maintained his seat as the township's Ward 7 commissioner. Then in early November 2017, Ahr resigned his role with the board entirely.
