Ex Radnor Commissioner Who Groped Woman Gets 2 Years Probation

In June, William Spingler admitted to fondling his 103-year-old mother in law on two occasions at a Wayne nursing home.

RADNOR, PA – Just a day after Radnor Township Board of Commissioners President Phil Ahr was arrested and hit with child pornography-related charges, former Radnor Commissioner William Spingler had his sentencing hearing after being found guilty of fondling his 103-year-old mother in law at a Wayne nursing home last year.

At his sentencing hearing on Thursday, Oct. 12, Spingler was ordered to serve two years of probation, as well as 60 months of home monitoring, for his crimes, according to court records.

Spingler, 75, of Paoli, was convicted on two of three counts of indecent assault on a person with a mental disability in a Delaware County court Thursday, June 15.

The conviction came after he told the court he fondled the woman, who is the mother of his late wife, on two occasions at the Wayne Nursing Home.

Spingler was accused of fondling the victim's breast on three occasions in December 2016.

He stepped down from his Radnor Township Commissioner position in July 2015.
