Fall Harvest And Great Pumpkin Event Returns To Willows Park Oct. 9

Keep your calendar open for Sunday, Radnor residents. Because the Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch Event is coming again to the Willows Park on Sunday Oct. 9. from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event promises loads of fall fun, including hay rides, pumpkin painting, bounce houses, autumn spin art, and even a hay scramble at 3 p.m. where kids will dig through hay to find candy, toys, and more. Attendees will even be able to pick a pumpkin for themselves, free of charge.

New to this year's event is a homemade scarecrow judging competition where prizes will be award to the top three scarecrows as voted by the public. Participants can drop off their homemade scarecrows between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the township's Recreation Department informational table at the event. The public will be able to judge scarecrows from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., with winners being announced at 3:30 p.m.

Also new this year is a sort of trick or treat aspect: anyone who attends the event in a Halloween Costume will earn free treat by stopping by the township's Recreation Department informational table to pick up their free teat.

The event flyer says the 2015 Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch Event brought in about 4,000 people. So with the two new features, this year's event is shaping up to have another huge turnout.

The Willows Park is located at 495 Darby-Paoli Road, Villanova. Parking will be available at the park entrance with township police assisting with parking.

In the event of inclement weather, the Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch Event will be rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 16.
