Fitness Fun: Register For Yoga and 5k Event In Wayne

Fill your Saturday morning with yoga and a run or walk at the 4th Dan's Down Dog and Dash event Oct. 15.

What better way to start your day and a nice stretch and run or walk?

That's the thought behind Dan's Down Dog and Dash yoga and 5k run/walk event in Wayne. This year's event kicks off at with yoga at St. Katherine of Siena, 104 S Aberdeen Ave. in Wayne, beginning at 8 a.m. and a 5k run or walk at 9 a.m. No mat is needed for the yoga session, which will be led by Kristin Page. The 5k run and walk begins and ends at St. Katherine of Siena.

Registration is $25 per person and $15 for students under 18. Family and team registration is $150. Participants also can register for the 5k on Oct. 15 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

According to the event's website, proceeds will benefit For Pete’s Sake, the Schultz Kids Education Fund, and other organizations and causes. Dan’s Down Dog and Dash is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people Live Life to the Fullest in honor of Dan Schultz, whose fight against cancer and approach to
life emphasized the importance of surrounding yourself with a wonderful community, remaining mentally fit, and maintaining physical activity.
