Five Year Old Raises Over $2k And Counting For Delco Police Officer Battling Cancer

Avery Graham, we commend you!

Five-year-old Avery Graham of Trainer, Delaware County met Trainer Borough Police Office Steve Adamek this summer when Avery was riding his bike in his neighborhood.

Avery and Adamek became friends, with Adamek stopping by to check on Avery on occasion.

But this fall Adamek was unfortunately diagnosed with stage four cancer.

It's hard to say what an average five-year-old kid would do in that situation, but we know for sure what Avery did.

Avery began selling bracelets to help offset Adamek's medical bills while he is being treated.

Since he began selling the bracelets, Avery has raised over $2,000 for Adamek and is even getting bracelet orders from all over the country.

For his dedication to Adamek and the Trainer Borough Police Department, Avery got a special visit from Delaware County Councilman Dave White on Nov. 21, where he was presented with a commendation for his selflessness.

Not only did he receive an official resolution from White, Avery also got some goodies from the Delaware County District Attorney and Sheriff's office.

You can help Adamek's fight by purchasing a bracelet. Adult sizes cost $5 and kids sizes cost $3. To purchase a bracelet, contact Trainer Borough at (610) 497-3838, extension 1, or visit the Trainer Borough Police Department Facebook page.
