Flanagan Sworn In As New Radnor Police Superintendent
Deputy Superintendent Chris Flanagan is taking over for outgoing Superintendent William Colarulo following his retirement later this month.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – With Radnor Township Police Superintendent William Colarulo set to retire later in May, a new superintendent was needed.
And the township got just that in Deputy Superintendent Chris Flanagan who was sworn in as Colarulo's successor at Monday's Township Commissioners meeting.
Flanagan received full support from the commissioners when they put forward the resolution to approve him as the new superintendent.

Township Manager Robert Zienkowski highlighted Flanagan's work with the township before he was approved. Flanagan has installed various programs in the township, including the K9 program, police chaplain program, motorcycle unit, citizens police academy, and much more during his 20 years with the department.
"It's with great honor and privilege to put Chris' name forward to his board of commissioners for his appointment to superintendent of police," Zienkowski said.

Judge Kevin Kelly presided over Flangan's swearing in, which was led by Colarulo.
"Chris is an unbelievable human being," Colarulo said Monday.
Flanagan thanked countless people, including township officials, the police department, EMS crews, family, friends, and many others for supporting him.
"I am humbled to stand before everyone here," he said after being sworn in. "We will work arm-in-arm to protect every resident and visitor in this great township."

Flanagan ended his brief statement by saying his pledge as superintendent is to ensure every emergency responder can get home safely.
Flanagan was promoted from lieutenant to deputy superintendent in April 2017.
He joined the department in 1998 and was promoted to sergeant in 2005, then to lieutenant in 2012.
