Welcome to my First Blog! I look forward to your comments and feedback...let's talk fashion!!
Ah September! School, football, and of course Fashion! I am transfixed on the thought that I will soon be able to wrap myself in the newest and the latest from the fashion world! But wait....don't run to your favorite boutique or mall yet. Read my "Top 5 Tips" on how to do your fashion homework!
1) Be your own Closet muse
Shop your own closet first! Take inventory before you go shopping. Statistics show that we wear less than 25% of the clothes we own. Try using this rule: Only buy things you can wear three different ways, paired with the clothes you already own.
2) Never Say Never (wear again)
There are timeless fashion staples. For example - a black leather skirt, a plaid jacket and a chambray shirt - just style them differently every season.
3) Magical #3
Shop for items that work for at least three seasons. A classic denim jacket or a fun colorful or printed menswear shirt can be worn for all four seasons.
4) Quick Change
An inexpensive way to have fun with a new trend is to purchase the latest accessories of the season. They work wonders and can help you "rock" any fashion basic. Try some bling on a headband or a leopard print shoe.
5) Be a Copycat
Keep a scrapbook of tear sheets from your favorite magazines of celebrities' style that catch your eye. Then play with the items in your closet to create your own version of that look!
