The Radnor Township School District offered up 17 facts about the class to give the community a sense of who is walking at graduation.

WAYNE, PA – The Radnor High School Class of 2017 is all set for their commencement. But are you? Well if not, the Radnor Township School District offered up 17 facts about the class of 2017 to help you get acquainted with the students earning their diplomas.
With 322 members of the class, the factoids are perfect to get to know the group of students.

- Out of the 167 males in the class, John is the most popular name. There are 10 of them.
- Out of the 155 females in the class, Emily, Grace and Julia are the most popular names. There are five each of them.
- Two members of the Class of 2017 will be celebrating something else the day of graduation – their birthday. Happy birthday to Christopher Lee and Greg Gianella! Ten other students will celebrate their birthdays during the week of graduation. September is the busiest month for birthdays for members of the Class of 2017.
- Three sets of twins will graduate this year. We'll also be saying goodbye to one set of triplets!
- There are two particularly “rad” Radnor grads: Bradley Henkin and Bradley Whitebread.
- 64 members of the Class of 2017 went to Ithan Elementary School; 80 went to Radnor; and 90 went to Wayne.
- The favorite LM Week theme for the Class of 2017 during their four years at RHS was "Star Wars."
- 166 members of the Class of 2017 will still have especially close ties to the district after June 7: they all have siblings who will still be attending RTSD schools next year.
- On the other hand, 124 members of the Class of 2017 will sadly be the last member of his or her current immediate family to attend RTSD schools. Stay in touch!
- This year’s graduates plan to attend 121 different post-secondary institutions.
- The college/university set to have the most Raiders as freshmen next year is Penn State, where 37 graduates plan to attend either main campus or satellite campuses. The second college/university scheduled to welcome the most members of the Class of 2017 is Temple, where 26 graduates plan to attend. Third is University of Pittsburgh, where 15 members of the Class of 2017 plan to continue their education.
- Thirteen graduates are set to move on to Ivy League schools: eight plan to attend the University of Pennsylvania; and one each at Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale.
- 148 students plan to attend Pennsylvania colleges/universities.
- Thirteen students plan to attend Pennsylvania community colleges.
- Two graduates plan to join the U.S. Armed Forces (one - Army, one - Navy)
The 2017 commencement will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Liacouras Center at Temple University, 1776 N Broad Street, Philadelphia.
Mubarak M. Lawrence, Radnor High School Class of 2006, will be the commencement's keynote speaker. Lawrence has worked on behalf of underprivileged youth and low-income communities throughout his adult and professional life, the district said. With graduation Wednesday, which is a half day for students district wide, you might as well catch up with other important end-of-school dates.
- Friday, June 9 – End of marking period for Wayne, Ithan, and Radnor elementary schools;
- Tuesday, June 13 – End of marking period for Radnor Middle School; Radnor Middle School 8th Grade Recognition and Awards Ceremony;
- Wednesday, June 14 – Early dismissal; last day of class for K-12; end of marking period for Radnor High School; Wayne, Ithan, and Radnor elementary schools 5th grade recognition ceremonies.
