Giant Water Slide Event In Philly Canceled

Slide the City has canceled its August event in Philadelphia after the city denied the event a permit.

A giant water slide block party event will not be held in Philadelphia as planned after the city decided not to issue a permit for the August event, the Inquirer reports.

Slide the City, which announced last week it would bring its 1,000-square-foot water slide to Philadelphia on Aug. 6, has canceled the event.

"We just felt like they weren't great partners," a spokeswoman for Mayor Kenney’s administration told the publication.

The event was originally scheduled to be held at Sedgley Way and Poplar Drive.
