Holiday Trash Collection Schedule In Effect Next Week In Radnor

Read on to see the rest of the township's trash, recycling, and yard waste collection schedule for 2017.

Radnor Township residents will have their trash picked up a day later next week on account of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Rather than district 1 and district 2 residents having trash collected Monday and Tuesday, crews will be collecting trash on Tuesday and Wednesday.

That also means there will be no yard waste collection on Wednesday.

Recycling will go on as usual for both districts, with district 1 being collected Thursday and district 2 on Friday.

Holiday collection schedules will be in effect the following weeks:

  • Feb. 20 for President's Day
  • April 10 for Good Friday on April 14
  • May 29 for Memorial Day
  • July 3 for Independence Day on July 4
  • Sept. 4 for Labor Day
  • Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving
  • Dec. 25 for Christmas

Accepted recyclables include: newspaper, inserts, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, envelopes, paperback books, phone books, cardboard, clean pizza boxes, office and school paper, color paper, box board (cereal, cake, and cracker boxes), paper egg cartons, paper bags (grocery type), aluminum cans, clean foil, tin and steel aerosol cans (empty), glass jars and bottles (empty), plastic containers numbers 1 through 7.

Recyclables not accepted include: garbage, plastic bags, food waste, tainted items such as used paper products, Styrofoam, motor oil, bottles or hazardous chemical containers, plastic toys or sporting good, electronics batteries, CDs, DVDs, foam egg cartons, ice cream cartons, light bulbs, hangers, yard waste, garden tools.

For yard waste collection, waste must be must be placed in bio‐degradable paper bags or loose in a 35 gallon refuse container, not to exceed 50lbs. No plastic bags will be accepted.

Tree trimmings and brush must be tied into bundles no longer than 3 feet. Branches can be larger than 2 inches in diameter. Firewood will not be collected. Leaves will be collected in bio‐degradable bags when placed at the curb except during the township-wide leaf collection in fall.

Up to 10 bundle and bags of yard waste will be collected on yard waste collection days.
