Hoops For The Heart In Delco Raises Money, Collects Food In Martin Luther King Jr.'s Honor
The food and fund drive will help feed and provide shelter for needy citizens.
Hoops from the Heart Basketball Clinic and Food Drive took place on Jan. 16, Martin Liuther King Jr. Day.
In honor of the Civil Rights leader's legacy, the event raised more than $9,000 and more than 400 food items that will help the Community Action's Life Center in Upper Darby.
Hundreds of students from Delaware County participated in the drive, which took place at Cabrini University, Widener University, and Haverford College.

Delaware County Councilman Dave White, Vice Chair Colleen Morrone and Councilman Mike Culp visited and commended the young players participating in the annual Hoops from the Heart Basketball Clinic and Food Drive at Haverford College on Jan. 16.
