Kimonos, Tea Ceremony at Wayne Art Center
A Japanese tea ceremony demonstration will be held on Saturday.
A collection of Japanese traditional kimono was presented as a fashion show at the Wayne Art Center on April 28.
The event is one of a number of Japanese cultural events presented by The Tori Collection on the occasion of the show being held currently at the art center.
The next event, according to the art center, is a tea ceremony demonstration on Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. According to the Wayne Art Center:

Takeko Shervin has been practicing “Chado/Sado” Art of Tea Ceremony for over thirty years. Studied under Urasenke School of Tea, in 2010 she attained the rank of kyoju, an honor that has been granted to few teachers in the United States. Guests can view the delicate ways of offering and receiving Tea “Cha-no-yu”. Detailed significance of each step of the tea ceremony will be shown and explained. Tea will be offered to attendees and they will have an opportunity to taste the delicate flavor of Tea. Participation: $15/person.
