Later Start Time Discussed For Radnor Middle, High Schools: Report

At a recent meeting, parents and a member of the Radnor Township Board of Health spoke about how a later start time could help students.

WAYNE, PA – Radnor Middle School and Radnor High School could see later start time for the 2017-2018 school year after parents and a health official weighed in on the benefits of an 8:30 start time for students.

At a recent business meeting with district officials, parents and Dr. Andrew Forman, a pediatrician and chairman of the township Board of Health, spoke about the benefits of a later start time for student in middle and high school.

Forman referred to a study that showed that when school starting times changed from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., teen accidents were reduced by 17.5 percent the first year.
