Learning, Attention Disorder Expert Speaking At Radnor School

Radnor schools will host learning and attention disorder expert Peg Dawson for an evening of discussion on how to make students successful.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – An expert on children and adults with learning and attention disorders will be speaking on the topic of student success in Radnor on Nov. 7 and the public is invited to attend.

The Radnor Township School District Department of Student Services will host Peg Dawson, EdD, co-author of Smart but Scattered, for an evening presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Radnor Middle School.

Dawson will discuss three strategies parents can use to help children acquire the critical skills they need to be successful students: how to structure the environment to reduce the impact of weak executive skills; how to teach executive skills; and how to use incentives to get kids to practice these skills.

This event is free and open to the public.

Dawson specializes in the assessment of children and adults with learning and attention disorders. She worked as a school psychologist for 16 years in Maine and New Hampshire, and for over 25 years at the Center for Learning and Attention Disorders in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Dawson is a former president of both the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the International School Psychology Association (ISPA). She is a recipient of THE NASP Lifetime Achievement Award and the ISPA Distinguished Services Award.

Dawson received her doctorate in school/child clinical psychology from the University of Virginia.

The Radnor Middle School is located at 150 Louella Ave. in Wayne.
