Local Craft Beer for Charity & More at All-You-Can-Eat Crab Fest

3rd Annual Event Benefits Medical Nonprofit Help Hope Live

On Sunday, August 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., join the Radnor-based nonprofit Help Hope Live at St. Christopher’s Church (226 Righters Mill Road in Gladwyne) for its 3rd annual Crab Fest. Highlights include all-you-can-eat fresh steamed crabs, fried chicken, and sides, live music, outdoor fun, and activities for kids in a beautiful outdoor setting, and a beer tasting opportunity from West Chester craft brew sensation Levante Brewing. Tickets are on sale now. Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit’s mission to help thousands of patients facing a medical crisis to access care and equipment through fundraising.

Levante shares a special connection to Help Hope Live. “I started putting on a homebrewing competition as an extension of an annual fundraiser: the Jeff Harris Curl-a-thon,” explained Greg Harris Levante’s head brewer. The Curl-a-thon benefits Help Hope Live, raising spinal cord injury funds and awareness in honor of Greg’s brother, Jeff, who sustained a life-altering spinal cord injury in 2007. For Greg, the event also provided an opportunity to connect with Levante’s president and brewmaster—and the rest is history.

This year, Help Hope Live’s Crab Fest features Levante as the official craft beer partner, allowing the brewery to give back to the organization that has played a key role in Jeff’s recovery and touched the lives of patients locally and far beyond.
